Integrated Skills seminar 2018
Auktoriserade Språkutbildares Riksorganisation (ASR) is pleased to invite teachers, training managers, learners, consultants and other stakeholders to an exclusive seminar on the teaching and assessment of integrated skills in language training for professionals.
When teaching language for professional situations, we cannot focus on the “classic” skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking in isolation. These skills need not only to be integrated with each other in order to reflect real-life situations, but also integrated with professional skills such as negotiating, presenting, leading meetings and coaching staff. How do we combine these requirements effectively in order to meet the demands of a market where clients want to see results in terms of improved job performance rather than academic progress or the passing of exams?
Teaching, Learning and Assessing Integrated Skills:
From Course Design to Student Assessment in Professional Contexts
Don’t miss this hands-on opportunity to learn more about how we can apply the latest theories and research into the teaching, learning and assessment of integrated skills and how recent enhancements of The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) take this into account. Find out more from this short video presentation by our speaker, Thom Kiddle, a leading international expert on the teaching and assessment of integrated skills.
This workshop is part of an ongoing series of events organised jointly by ASR, the Swedish Association of Accredited Language Training Providers and Eaquals, a global network of leading national and international education organisations focused on excellence in language training.
